The purpose of this legislation and program is to promote greater economic opportunities for businesses owned by women, minority, and disabled veterans in order to compete in the free enterprise system and to strengthen the overall economy of the state. The IT Team is pleased to share that Crystal is now serving as School Relations Coordinator (long-term consultant) (http://ca.mousesquad.org/aboutus/staff/Jensen.html) to the MOUSE Squad of California (MSCA), whose mission is to empower underserved youth, grades 4 – 12, to learn, lead, create and collaborate with technology, preparing them with skills essential for their academic and career success (http://ca.mousesquad.org/aboutus/mission/index.html). The MSCA program prepares students to become digital media and technology experts, providing access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education. We trust that the collaboration between MSCA and IT will enhance both organizations’ abilities to improve the quality of life (economic development, increased social connection, and enhanced educational opportunities) for urban, socio-economically diverse communities through the use of technology. Chandler, AZ, October 23, 2013, — Integrity Technologies entered the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development’s (NCAIED) “Twenty Grand Business Plan Competition” at the Reservation Economic Summit (RES) in Arizona and was selected to compete in the Top 5 against well-established and successful Native American businesses.
The NCAIED’s “Twenty Grand Business Plan Competition” wherein both “start up” and “established” Native American businesses (wholly owned by an enrolled member of any State or Federally recognized Tribal Nation, Alaska Native or Canadian First Nations), from across North America, competed for the chance to win a $20,000 cash award from the NCAIED by attending and presenting their company’s business plan at RES Arizona to a panel of respected and accomplished entrepreneurs and business leaders who served as judges of the competition. The business plans were judged based on Business Structure, Financial Viability, Personal Abilities, Business Experience and Quality of the Plan. Recently, Integrity Technologies applied for a $250,000 grant from Chase as part of a newly launched program, Mission Main Street Grants. We had to submit a questionnaire outlining a business plan that would result in growth of the business and receive at least 250 votes to be eligible for a grant. Full eligibility requirements are available in the Program Rules. The voting deadline is November 15, 2013 and grant recipients will be selected by expert panelists. An award ceremony was held on October 24, 2013 at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino in Chandler, Arizona. The ceremony occurred during NCAIED’s 38th Annual Indian Progress in Business Awards Gala. Dr. Jensen is an award-winning educator serving very diverse K-12 and higher education organizations. As an enrolled member of the Choctaw Tribe of Oklahoma, Jensen’s recent Doctor of Learning Technologies research at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology (GSEP) highlights the possible futures of utilizing information and communication technologies (ICTs) for U.S Indigenous Peoples’ and communities in need of cultural preservation, revitalization, and capacity building, especially in rural and remote locations.
